Ladies ladies ladies, Jay & Silent Bob are in the hizzouse

Okay, so once again it's been a while since an update. Well let me tell you, readers, what's going on.

I ended up getting the job at Huron Lodge. It's really fun. I called Bingo last Friday, and I get a free lunch. Although I'm sure there's some laxatives in it. Oh well. And the diabetic desserts are top notch. The old people are really fun, and I love it there. As well, Sarah's work is right behind mine.

So I'm on my second week in Elliot Lake, and there isn't much else to do. There's $4 movies on Tuesdays, so that's cool. I bought a Zellers skate and have been entertaining myself with that. Seriously, this place is the size of Port Moody. I'm house manager this week, and I still fucking hate it. And I have to do it 3 times this trimester. B00-urns.

At least the program's almost over. I'm getting pretty excited to go back home. Sarah'll be visiting from August 2nd - 16th, so that's gonna be alot of fun. And then I'm going down to Edmonton on September 14th or 15th, and from there begins my cross-Canada road trip. Hopefully. Assuming I get a car and my license by then.

Anyways, that's all I have for now. It seems like I haven't talked to anyone in forever. And I don't think anyone even reads this anyways.

Ontari-OH NO!

So I'm on my last stop: Elliot Lake, Ontario. We got here at about 4am April 23rd. Dead tired. This town is TINY. Like shit, we drove around it 3 or 4 times just visiting the work placements. Went to the "mall" and "downtown". Absolutely nothing there. But that's good, as I'm trying to save my money. The PL's extremely awesome so far. The common room of the house is pretty sweet, and the rest of the house isn't that bad.

Rotation camp was alright. Tiring and lame, but alright.

Today we have our job interviews. I'm hoping to get Huron Lodge, an old folk's home which seems really awesome. My next choice is the Literary Council, assisting adults with less than grade 9 education. Third choice is Parks & Recreation, which is basically landscaping and general clean up of the city. If those all fail, then I have Little Treasure's Children's Centre, yet another daycare, as a backup. Interviews are in 15 mintues. That's all for now.

I present thee with an update

So last Wednesday, we had our open house. BUST. There were 5 people. That's enough of that.

I was in Vancouver this past weekend. It was good to be back. A little bit of culture shock after living in such small towns for so long, but good nonetheless. On Friday, hung out with the fam-lay. Later that night, dinner at Red Robin's. Good turnout. Twas nice to see everyone again. Saturday, went shopping with Ryan, Bozz and Juice. I got jeans, a hat and a shirt. Woo. Sunday, lunch with relatives. We were together for maybe 4 hours. Then off to the airport we went. Met Sarah at her gate, and we had a nice flight back here to PG.

Yesterday we snowshoed around the Ancient Forest. That's all I have to say about that.

So we have our itinerary for travelling to Elliot Lake. It is as follows:

April 22nd 12:30am: Drive from Gavin Lake to PG Airport. Arrive at 4:30am.
April 22nd 6:00am: Fly to Vancouver Airport. Arrive at 7:00am.
April 22nd 9:00am: Fly to Toronto Airport. Arrive at 4:22pm.
April 22nd 10:50pm: Fly to Sault Ste. Marie. Christ, that's almost 7 hours in Toronto. But don't worry, I'll be seeing Bosu REAL soon. Arrive at 12:30am on April 23rd.
April 23rd 12:30am: Drive to Elliot Lake. We arrive at 4:30am. ON APRIL 23RD!! More than 24 hours of travel. Who's idea was that?!

That's really it. We're on our last week of work and being in PG. Rotation camp next Monday. Joy.

Times are nearly changing

So what's happened so far? Let me tell you.

March 28th, went cross country skiing. Fell so many times, and I didn't really get it until before we left.

I was house manager last week with Sarah. Besides being with Sarah, it fucking sucked balls. I hate house manager, and always will. On Friday, I was cooking from 12pm until 6pm. BRUTES.

This weekend, we were in Quesnel. We played Capture the Flag downtown. SO much fun. We visited Wells and Barkerville. It was okay. And I have a new game for you all... CAMOUFLAGE! Lots of fun.

So I'm back in Vancouver for this weekend. I get in on Thursday night, and leave Sunday afternoon. Be at Red Robin bitches.

That's my super quick post for tonight. I know it's been a while, but too bad. Just kidding.

Horseshit

So as it would turn out, we're NOT going to Brandon, MB anymore. We're now going to Elliot Lake, ON. Bullshit. I won't be legal through the duration of the program. I won't be able to see Mo in Brandon. I won't be in the same cluster as Bouctouche. Fuck fuck fuck.

Shniggity Shnine

So relatively long time, no post.

Billeting's over, and alot of the tension has blown over. For me anyways. I'm pretty lax now.

Oh my goodness, half the trimester is over. Meaning, I'm halfway through the program. I'll be home for good soon bitches.

So during billeting, I decided on a lot of my future. I'll probably be taking a photography course at either Art Institute or Cap in 2010. Until then, I want to do a road trip across Canada. I'm pretty sure I'll hit every province except Saskatchewan. Haven't met anyone worth visiting from there. Yet. I also want to do a trip to Japan and South Africa eventually, because Damian's not coming back till the end of 2010. Weak.

That's basically it, we have our midtrimester reflection. Fun fun. Peace out holmes.

Come on fhqwhgads

Billeting has begun. I'm quite relieved by this vacation of sorts.

Friday, a tall German man named Stephan (shteh-fahn) came to pick me up from the Katimahouse, along with his two kids Afra (a four year-old girl) and Felix (a two year-old boy). I had already met the wife, Carla, at our billeting party on Wednesday. I had been informed that they were vegan, but since I'm not so picky anymore, I think I can deal with it. They're a really sweet family, and they're just as laid back as I am.

We arrived at the house, and they showed me to my room and whatever. It's nice to have my own room for the next little while. The house is a lot closer to downtown, and I now get to leave MUCH later for work. Hoorah. Also, Sarah lives a 10 minute walk away. Pretty awesome.

Dinner that night, we had vegan chili. Hands down THE best chili I've ever had. After that, I got settled in my room, called up Sarah, and we went to go watch Slumdog Millionaire with her billet (Diandra & Stewart). It was a really good movie, I quite enjoyed it. After the movie, we went back to Sarah's billet house and hung out for a bit. We tried watching Edward Scissorhands (which I still haven't seen), but I kept falling asleep. I ended up getting home at around 2:30am.

Yesterday, I caught up on alot of asleep. I was awoken by the kids at around 8:00. Weak. I went downstairs, got ready and everything, tried calling Sarah numerous times. She finally answered at 1:00, but informed me she was going roller skating from 2-4. So I decided to nap the rest of the day. Woke up around 5:00, just in time for dinner.

After dinner, me and Stephan went to go watch the PG Cougars at the CN Centre. Holy shit, they suck. Within 15 minutes of the period, they were down 2-0. After the second period, we just left.

Since we had left early, I decided to go hang out at Sarah's. We watched Burn After Reading, and then I decided the head home relatively early (12:30).

Today seems like it's gonna be a fairly laid back day, and I don't plan on doing much. I think I've got a pretty solid week ahead of me. I don't know what it is, but it's probably fhqwhgads.
